According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), data shows that drug overdose deaths from April 2021 to April 2022 increased by 7% from 101,167 to 108,174. According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse, the following statistics for 2022 were shared:

  • 20.4 million people in the United States were diagnosed with Substance Use Disorder (SUD) in the past year.
  • Only 10.3 percent of people with past-year SUD received SUD treatment.
